FRINGE DIVISION CASE FILE #410-12712

FRINGE EVENT: Precognitive ability to see death before it happens

CLASSIFIED CASE CONNECTION(S): N/A

AGENTS ASSIGNED: Dunham, Lee

SUPERVISING AGENT: Broyles

FILE ARCHIVED BY: André Ferreira, Serena Graziani

WITNESSES/CONTACTS: Jayne Reynar, Jim and Diane Mallum (parents), Danny Mallum (sibling), Albert Duncan (suspect)

LOCATION: Tanner Park, Boston, MA; Allston Courthouse, MA

VICTIM(S): Emily Mallum (deceased), Robert Englehart (deceased), Judge O'Malley

CASE REPORT SUMMARY:

A crane operator in Boston lost control of an I-beam, which killed random victim Robert Englehart. The man's colleague explained that a few moments before he was killed, a girl handed Englehart a sketch depicting his exact death. Emily Mallum was identified as the teenage girl and tracked down to her residence by Agents Dunham and Lee. Jim Mallum initially lied about Emily Mallum being his daughter, but agents found her when she returned to the complex. Jim Mallum denied parental consent for her to talk to them because of negative experiences in the past with law enforcement and Massive Dynamic, who had approached the family in Baltimore about studying Emily Mallum's precognitive abilities.
Agent Dunham passed her card to Emily Mallum, who called her later with a private meeting location in Tanner Park. Emily Mallum explained her ability started at age eleven at a pet store, when she heard a hum and then she saw the clerk's heart attack moments before he died. She visited Dr. Bishop's lab, where he discovered her occipital lobe was remarkably active and drew elevated levels of both oxygen and blood. He theorized that she was sensitive to traumatic vibrations, which she could not control or stop. Emily Mallum said she drew the victims in hopes they would do one last good thing before they died. Emily Mallum's ability helped the science team thwart a suicide bombing by Albert Duncan at the Allston Courthouse. Emily Mallum died of an overload of electrical activity in her brain soon after.
